Getting wet...again

We visited Great Mamaw and Papaw Duncan yesterday. We had planned on going to a splash park in Owensboro but it was closed already. We had to improvise because Carson just loves to play in the water. We had Papaw get the sprinkler out. Carson loved it of course. Carson had a ball being outside most of the day. Such beautiful weather this weekend.

Monday Monday

Carson's Mamaw and Papaw came over this evening. I had made a roast in the crock pot while I was at work today. I must say it turned out pretty great. It only took roast, carrots, potatos, coca-cola, and a packet of onion soup mix. We all enjoyed it, except for Carson. He only ate the carrots and potatos. I can't believe I got him to eat carrots though. Anytime I feed them to him he spits them out and turns up his nose to them. But boy did he love these carrots. I think I may start using my crock pot more often. It was so nice to have dinner ready when I got home. Anyway, just a few pics from our time together this evening, and one of Carson from the other day.

Mesker Park Zoo

Look Mom it's a giraffe!

Some of the monkeys were very intriguing.

We took a little trip to the zoo yesterday. It was late in the day so it wasn't too bad heat wise. I hadn't been in so many years. Carson was pointing at all the animals of course. I think he liked the ducks around the lake the best. Doesn't he know we could see those anywhere.

Farewell Rui!

My niece Rui has headed back to California now. She was able to visit for the summer again this year. We went to a BBQ in her honor Friday night. Got to see all of the family. Carson loved watching all the kids sing, dance, and jump on the trampoline. He got to join in the fun a bit himself. Carson also loved both of the pups at my brother's house. Tank is 7 months old or so, and Bella is just 8 weeks or so. They are Boston Terrier. Carson loved them of course. Wish I could have got a pic of him and Bella to share.

All 6 of us.

My sister Tab and niece Rui.

Doesn't Carson look enthused in this one?

teething distractions

I think Carson's favorite part was walking around in his shoes.

Going down the slide wasn't as exciting as I made it look.

These pics are from this morning.

When Carson woke up from his afternoon nap Sunday he was pretty cranky. I think he may be getting another tooth. This would make his 8th tooth. Perhaps a molar? He's had a runny nose, scratching at his ears, and very whiny for the last 2 days. It seems the only way to calm him and myself is to get him outside and distract him from his teething pain. We took a few trips around the yard in his wagon Sunday night, and headed to the park down the street this morning. Thank goodness Daddy will be home with us tomorrow to help with the fussiness.

Windy Hollow Lake

Today is Jamie's first day at the store in Henderson. With him being gone all day Carson and I packed up and headed to Owensboro to spend some time with my sisters, nephews, and niece. Carson had so much fun. He loved the lake. When we would come out he would walk back down to get in the water. He had a nice float and a lawn chair just his size courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa. Carson loved it when his cousin Ryan would push him around in his float. He was so exhausted by the end of the day. He fell asleep about 20 seconds after I put the car in drive. It sure was nice spending some time with the family. Haven't gotten to do much of that this summer.
